Very often than not, people always find it uneasy when speaking to a stranger and not mentioning getting to know someone in a party. This is normal as most of us are not born to be a natural speaker. Many people may choose to have less contact when they find themselves alone in a party just because they do not know how to start a conversation. The art of conversation is a skill that can be learn and perfected. Below are some of the tips you can use to make a good conversation in a party.

1) Learn to overcome the greatest obstacles to conversation. Shyness, insecurity, nervousness can be learn through practice, book and training.

2) Make preparation by enriching you conversation party before joining any conversation party. Current event and happenings are the best way to start a conversation. Movies, music and hobbies are all good way to make an interesting impact on a party.

3) Study how a good speaker speaks and how they attract you. Use the same tactics when speaking to a stranger to capture their attention. Learn some good opening lines that will lead to a discussions and practice them until it comes out naturally from your mouth.

4) Make note of things that interest you and practice taking about this topics. This is very useful after the initial engagement.

5) Realize that most people are as nervous as you and therefore they are too waiting for you to break the ice and start talking.

6) If you do not have something to talk about, always start by asking a question. For example, “I always wanted to have a house like this”…. and there goes a topic.

7) Study the body language of the peoples that you approach. Always start to approach someone who has an opening posture and always look into the eyes and talking to a stranger to show your interest.

8) Beware of your own body language, do not cross your arm as this will drive away people from you. Hold a glass of drink and keep your posture open to invite conversation.

Keep all the above tips in mind and you will feel more comfortable meeting people in a party.
